HOME AFFAIRS Committee’s inquiry into sexual exploitation and child grooming focussing on #RotherhamAbuse

14 09 09 HoC HASCThis meeting of the Select Committee took place on 09 14 09 09 HoC HASC HughesSeptember 2014 to take more evidence regarding sexual exploitation and the response to local grooming:

  • with Chief Constable David Crompton QPM
  • former Chief Constable Meredydd John Hughes CBE QPM
  • Martin Kimber, former Chief Executive, Rotherham Council
  • Joyce Thacker OBE, Strategic Director of Children, Young People and Families, Rotherham Metropolitan Borough Council
  • Shaun Wright, South Yorkshire Police Crime Commissioner.

Amazing: nobody knew of the ‘scale and scope’ of the problem; if anybody knew, they wouldn’t be heard…
